Box Play

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to use their hands and fingers to explore and interact with the environment.

Materials Needed:

  • Medium-sized box
  • Materials featuring a variety of textures and colors, such as aluminum foil, bubble wrap, soft fabric, corrugated cardboard, paint chips, or sandpaper

Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction.

Directions:

  1. Glue the materials on the box (both inside and outside).
  2. Show the box to your child. Encourage him or her to touch and explore the materials and crawl in the box.

Ensure that the materials are glued on securely and can’t be pulled off; provide adult supervision.
