
This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to use their large muscles to explore and interact with the environment. This fun activity not only builds children’s balance and flexibility but also fosters focus and persistence.
Materials Needed:
- None
Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction.
Directions:
- Stand with your child on a rug or carpeted area with plenty of room to move.
- Take turns thinking of actions that require you to twist your body, such as, “Touch your toe to your head,” or “Bring your elbow to your knee.”
- Introduce basic yoga poses that require stretching or bending, such as cat or cow.
