Parking Garage

Ideal for Infant, Toddler

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to understand and use a growing vocabulary.

Materials Needed:

  • Medium box
  • Cardboard tube
  • Tape
  • Toy vehicles

Participants: This activity is intended for independent play or adult/child interaction.


  1. Connect the tube to the medium box and secure with tape.
  2. Show your child how to send the toy vehicles through the tube.
  3. Introduce prepositional words, such as up, down, inside, and over.

Learn More: Older children might enjoy making a more elaborate parking garage with levels, windows, and ramps inside the box.
