This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to share music with others. Acts of service strengthen relationships, building a positive sense of identity and belonging for children.

Materials Needed:

  • Video recording device (cell phone)

Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction.

Directions:

  1. With your child, choose a favorite family song you’d like to share. It can be a simple fingerplay or something more complex.
  2. Practice singing the song a few times together. Add musical instruments or props if you like.
  3. Record your family singing the song. Send the recording to extended family, friends, or neighbors.
