This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to:

  • Learn about cause and effect
  • Demonstrates an understanding of spatial relationships
  • Uses symbols and representations in play

Materials Needed:

  • Paper
  • White crayon
  • Watercolors
  • Paintbrush
  • Water


  1. Draw a picture on white paper using a white crayon
  2. Paint watercolors on top of the drawing to reveal the picture.
  3. Repeat!
