Toward a Better World

Cooperative Game: Flip the Blanket

Ideal for Preschool/Pre-K, School-Age

Drawing of a tree waiting to be planted.

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to demonstrate persistence in actions and behaviors.

Materials Needed:

  • A towel, sheet, or blanket

Participants: This activity is intended for 2 or more participants/players.

Directions:

  1. Stand together on the towel, blanket, or sheet. Each person picks up the edge of the towel closest to them.
  2. Try to flip the towel so you’re standing on the other side of it without touching the floor or stepping off the towel. You can talk, hold onto another team member or do anything else you can think of. Just don’t touch the floor!
  3. Talk briefly about how it went. Reinforce the idea that life is easier when we work together, communicate, and help each other.
