Box Project Challenge

Ideal for Preschool/Pre-K, School-Age

Materials Needed:

  • A box or boxes

Directions:

  1. Find boxes:
    1. Search in your home
    2. Keep your eye on the mail or deliveries that come in boxes
    3. Ask friends and family
  2. Where will you place a box or boxes to spark interest? What will make children come over and explore?
  3. Observe, reflect, and plan.
  4. Write BRIEF notes about what you see (These observations will guide you to your next steps.)
  5. Now add more simple items to further extend your child’s interest.

Ask questions like…

  • What might you do next?
  • What other materials could you use?
  • Tell me some more about your ideas.
