This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to identify their ideal weather conditions and think critically about how to dress for various outdoor activities.
- Paper or journal
- Crayons or markers
- Various articles of clothing for different weather, e.g., sunglasses, shorts, mittens, parka, or raincoat
Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction.
- Challenge your child to think about their ideal weather conditions, then draw a picture of something they enjoy doing in that weather.
- Ask, why do you enjoy that activity? What gear or clothing do you need to engage in that activity?
- Ask your child to pretend she is going to go do the drawn activity. Ask, what articles of clothing in our home would you wear? Try the clothes and gear on and pretend you are doing your favorite activity!
We think you'll also enjoy these...
